KL Rahul’s unbeaten hundred, Chris Gayle’s 36-ball 63 and Mohammed Shami’s three-wicket haul went in vain as Kieron Pollard – leading from the front – pulled off a heist to power Mumbai Indians (MI) to a sensational three-wicket win over Kings XI Punjab at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday.
Pollard ran riot as his 30-ball 83 included 10 sixes and 3 fours. He was dismissed before Alzarri Joseph and Rahul Chahar could score the winning runs.
With this victory, MI has now climbed to third on the IPL 2019 points table, with 8 points from six matches. Kings XI Punjab, who remain on 8 points, have played one additional match and are currently fourth on the table.
