De💃lhi Capitals pacer Harshal Patel has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 after suffering a fracture in his right hand, coach Ri♎cky Ponting confirmed in Kolkata on Thursday.
“He has suffered a fracture in his right hand in the game against Kings XI Punjab,” Ponting said.
“It took us a few days to actually get to the bottom of that fracture. He’s had some X-Rays. He’s been ruled out for three-four weeks, which basically ruled him out of the tournament. We need to find a replacement.”
Patel featured in two out of the 6 games for the Delhi-based outfit this season, picking up two wickets for 40 runs in the tied game against Kolk🎐ata Knight Ride꧃rs (KKR), which Delhi Capitals won in the super over, and conceded 37 runs for no wickets in the dramatic 14-run loss against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali.
Ponting further revealed that U-19 World Cup winner Manjot Kalra is also nursing a niggle and will have to pass a fitness test ahead of the upcoಞming game. Opener Kalra has not played a game 💎for Delhi so far.
The Shreyas Iyer-led side have had a mixed season so far. In six matches that Delhi Capitals have played, they have won 🍰three matches and lost as many.
