On Sunday evening, India’s 2011 World Cup victory hero, Yuvraj Singh began his IPL 2019 season with a blistering knock. Yuvraj was purchased by the Mumbai Indians franchise for INR 1 crore at the auctions last year. Though Mumbai 🥀Indians ended up on the losing side, cricket fans were delighted to see the southpaw back in action.
Chasing a target of 214 runs, Mumbai Indians team failed to build good partnerships. Yuvi was the only batsman from the MI side to score a half-century. He scored 53 runs off 35 balls, hitting 5 fours and 3 towering sixes. In the end, Mumbai Indians fell short of 37 runs, registering their first defeat of the season. For his fantastic knock, Yuvraj was awarded the ‘FBB Stylish Player of the Match’.

“I took my time there. The wickets were falling and I thought if I take chance early, we want to end getting close to the game, so I just took my time. I am happy with the way I was hitting the ball”, said Yuvraj during the post-match conference.
“We really couldn’t get partnerships going. Had we got 20-30 partnerships, we could have got more close to the game.”, he added.
Yuvraj also told reporters that last 2 years has been up and down for him and ♐talking to Sachin Tendulkar has been a big help.
“When the time comes, I will be the first one to hang up my boots. I spoke to Sachin as well and he has gone through such a time at 38-39. Talking to him makes things easier for me”, Yuvi further added.
Earlier, Rishab Pant with his power hitting (78 runs off 27 balls) helped Delhi Capitals to set a score of 213 runs. Mumbai Indians will play their next game agai♔nst 🔯Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on March 28.
