Captain Virat Kohli blasted the umpires for failing to call a no ball on the last delivery as his s🌜ide Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) lost the IPL 2019 game against the Mumbai Indians (MI) by just six runs.
With RCB needing seven runs to win and six to force a Super Over, Lasith Malinga sent down a full toss to Shivam Dube, which proved to be the final ball o🌱f the match.
Replays lat♒er showed the Sri ♑Lankan paceman had overstepped at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Before Kohli could give h⛎is post-match interview big screens in the stadium were already showing that Malinga had🏅 over-stepped the mark.
It would have given RCB one more ball – a free hit – to try and hit the maximum that would have tied the game, with AB De Villiers, 70 not out, on strike.
Kohli was visibly furious after the game and did not hold back in his condemnation of the no call. “We are playing at the IPL level and not playing club cricket. The umpires should have had their eyes open. That is a ridiculous call at the last ball. If it is a game of margins, I don’t know what is happening. They should have been more sharp and careful out there,” said the RCB skipper.
