Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who is well known for his hawk eye throws, apart from his ground fielding and catching, produced a moment of magic to dismiss the Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Peter Handscomb at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur on Tuesday.
The dismissal of the dangerous looking Handscomb opened the gates for a stellar comeback by the Men in Blue to beat the Aussies by 8 runs.
The inciꦓdent occurred in♛ the 38th over of the Australian innings bowled by Mohammed Shami. The Indian pacer delivered the third ball of the over on a good length around the off stump as the batsman played it to the point region.
Marcus Stoinis, who was on the other end of the crease, had taken off for a single already🎐. Handscomb was hesitant on seeing a fielder already set to collect the ball but in the end obliged for the risky single. Jadeja sprinted up, collected the ball and fired down t🧸he ball off his left hand to hit the stumps directly. Handscomb had to depart for 48 after facing 59 deliveries.
