The barren run of centuries for Virat Kohli has finally come to an end as the Indian skipper scored his 40th century in ODIs on Tuesday in the second game of the five-match ODI series against Australia, when he smashed 116 off 120 balls.
Kohli, who failed to register a score over 50 in his last five innings, scored a fig🅰hting centuꦇry against the Aussies at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur on Tuesday.
He reached the three-figure mark in the 44th over of the match with a boundary off Nathan Coulter-Nile. But, the 30-year-old couldn’t carry on till the end of the innings and finally fell for 116 in the 48th over to Pat Cummins while trying to score some quick runs for his side.
This is Kohli’s 7th century against Australia in ODIs and 14th overall across all the formats.

This is at his finest, getting runs amidst the ruins! In slightly challenging conditions, he's just backed himself and let go of the ego of a great batsman. Even in cruise mode he's delivered a potentially match-winning Century
