The runner-ups of the last edition of the IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad entered the mega-auction with most bases covered. However, having traded Shikhar Dhawan with Delhi Capitals (formerly Delhi Daredevils), they were in search of a destructi꧃ve batsman to open with David Warner.

The other slot they were looking to fill was that of a wicket-keeper. They got Vijay Shankar, Shahbaz Nadeem and Abhishek Sharma from Delhi in exchange of ✱Dhawan and bought Jonny Bairstow, Wriddhim🌳an Saha and Martin Guptill in the auctions.

While bagging Bairstow and Guptill gave them options at the top, bringing back Saha was also a fine move, considering his experience at the top. The three traded players can also prove to be more than just aꦑ little handy.

Shankar has proved his worth in international cricket and is in contention to be among the 15-man India squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Nadeem gives SRH a good spinꦰ bowling option, while youඣng Abhishek Sharma is a budding all-rounder who grabbed headlines with a 19-ball 45 for the Daredevils last year.

Sunrisers will begin their IPL 2019 campaign against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on March 24 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
