New Zealand defeated Pakistan in a Test series away from home for the first time in 49 years af♚ter thumping the home side by 123 runs in the third and final encounter on Friday.
Chasing 280 to win in 79 overs on the last day, Pakistan was 55/5 at lunch𓄧 and was bundled out for 156 in an extended middle session.
Fast bowler Tim Southee, who was playing h🐟is first Test in the 3 match series, took 3-42 while 34-year-old debutant William Somerville and fellow spinner Ajaz Patel, playing his third Test, shared six wickets.
Kane Williamson & Co. scored 274 and 353-7 declared, against Pakistan’s 348 and 156, to clinch the series 2-1. The Blackcaps won the first Test by four runs at the same venue, and lost the second in Dubai by an innings.
