Teenager Prith💃vi Shaw, who had missed the first two Tests against Australia due to injury, has now been ruled out of the rema♕ining series.
Mayank Agarwal has been called up as his replacement, while seam-bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya has also been added to🌜 the squad.
Shaw sustained his injury while fielding during a warm-up game against Cricket Australia XI. He hurt h🅰is ankle while attempting a catch near the boundary rope.
Meanwhile, Shaw’s replacement, Mayank Agarwal, is yet to make his Test debut but is experienced at the domestic level. He averages 50.30 in first-class cricket, with the highest score of 304 not out. He also struck a half-century in his recent innings for Karnataka in the ongoing Ranji Trophy.
Pandya, who had been sidelined with a back injury sustained during the Asia Cup 2018, proved his fitness and form in the recent Ranji Trophy round, clai༺ming first-innings figures of 5-81 and scoring 73 for Baroda against Mumbai.
