Australia pulled o☂ff a stunning victory to begin the T𒉰20I series against India.
A short rain delay shook up proceedings at The Gabba as Australia accumulated a🍒 strong total on the board with the help of Glenn Maxwell (46) and Chris Lynn (37).
Chasing 174 in 17 overs, a thrilling knock of 76 from the opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan couldn’t steer India to victory as the hosts pressured their opponents with a strong display in the field.
It got tight towards the end with the tourists moving from needing 60 from 24 to 13 from the final over, but a brilliant effort at th꧒e death from all-rounder Marcus Stoinis ensured the Aussies finished the game victorious.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the match:

A rea⭕lly cracker of a game to begin what promises to be a really good series. Wonderful innings from Shikhar and useful contributions from DK and Pant but in the end Stoinis handled his nerves well. Good game nonetheless

Congrats on the win Austra♒lia a bloody good tough and courageous ▨win. This Indian team are a very strong outfit and super competitive too. It’s going to be a great summer of cricket ! See you at the MCG Friday night 👍

India paid the price for dropping Chahal.
Krunal Pandya bowled 4 overs for 55 runs & no wi𒅌cket. India would have been chasing 20 runs less in all likelihood if Chahal was playing. Play Krunal as batsman if you want to, but not as replacement to 🤡Chahal.— Sanjay Manjrekar (@sanjaymanjrekar)
Well done boys good gutsy win in the end and first blow to the Aussies for the summer v India.😀﷽
