With 117 runs in two T20I games, India opener Shikhar Dhawan won the Man of the Series award after the visitors levelled the three-match series against Australia with a four-wicket win 🀅at the Syd꧃ney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Sunday.
Dhawan, who smashed 76 in the first T20I at Bri🐻sbane, albeit for a losing cause, took the Aussie bowlers to the cleaners in the third and final T20I, after the second rubber at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Friday was washed out.
The dashing southpaw💦 smashed six boundaries and two sixes during his 41 run (22 balls) knock but fell nine runs short of his 10th T20I half-century after returning pacer Mitchell Starc trapped Dhawan infront of the 𒁃wickets.
Dhawan, whose 76 at The Gabba, was decorated with 10 fours and 2 s♔ixes, walked up༺ on the stage where the presenter Neroli Meadows was standing with a young mascot to award him the trophy. Dhawan picked the kid up in his hands before accepting the honour. He was received by a huge cheer from the SCG crowd. When Neroli mentioned the roar, he said they love him a lot.
“I enjoy entertaining people and I enjoy playing entertaining cricket. Great to get such support from India supporters here,” Dhawan said at the post-match presentation ceremony on Sunday.
“It’s good that we could draw this series and ending on a winning note.”
