India captain Virat Kohli was on a record-breaking spree during the recently-concluded five-ꦍmatch ODI series against the Windies. He became the fastest batsman to co🦩mplete 10,000 ODI runs surpassing legendary Sachin Tendulkar and scored three centuries in the first three games to become the first Indian batsman to do so.
Consequently, with 899 points, Kohli retained the top spot in the latest rankings for batsmen released by the ICC on Friday. His deputy Rohit Sharma, who is 𒊎at No. 2 with a career-high 871 points, is not to💟o far behind him.
Meanwhile, England skipper J🌞oe Root has retained his No. 3 position with 807 points despite scoring just one half-century in five innings aꦉgainst Sri Lanka.
Among the bowlers, Yuzvendra Chahal has moved up by three places after his impressive performance against the Windies. He broke into the top 10 for the first time in his career and is now placed at No. 8 position along with England’s Adil Rashid.
Also, Jasprit Bumrah, who was drafted back into the Indian team for the last three ODIs against the Windies, retained his top spot with 841 points — his career-best.
