India wicketkeeper MS Dhoni took a stunning diving catch to effect West Indies’ first wicket in the third ODI on Saturday, just half a day after he was dropped from the T20I squad for series against the Windies and Australia.
The 37-year-old Dhoni showed fitness of a man in his 20s as he made a full strength dive after running back from the wicket to help Jasprit Bumrah dismiss 💞Chandrapaul Hemraj.
Dhoni’s fans on social media were quick to point out the brilliance of Dhoni and questioned once again his exclusion from the T20I squad for the upcoming two series.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to MS Dhoni’s brilliance:
MS Dhoni, is still the best keeper in the world. So quick off the mark (Hemraj’s catch a prime example) & lightening quick to take the bails off (Hetmyer’s wicket)…and is 37! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

MS Dhoni. 37 years young. What an athlete.
— Vinayakk (@vinayakkm)
This catch 🀅by Dhoni just showed how quick his reflexes still are. It is just matter of one or two good innings to get him back to his A game. He will be the keeper for me in the world cup.
— LOLendra Singh (@LOLendraSingh)
See the helicopter MS Dhoni flying. That catch!
— Silly Point (@FarziCricketer)
Yu may drop him
But he Can't.. ❤️❤️❤️— Udhaya Helicopter 🚁 (@thisisUtyheli)
Dhoni dropped yesterday. Dhon𝔍i does𓆉n’t drop it today. One of the finest athletes at 37 years of age. Unreal ⚡️
— Nav (@ImNsamy)
That catch shows that MS Dhoni is still fit and reflexes haven't dimmed yet. If he can just change his approach with the bat and play like he used to between 2005-07, he can be valuable. Needs to rely on his power game which certainly hasn't dimmed
— Hari Sadanandan (@iamharry_88)
You might get a ꦚbetter batsman than Dhoni in whit🧸e ball cricket but better keeper nah! What a catch.
— BitterSweetSymphony (@PluviophilePoet)
