Captain Cool MS Dhoni roasts Kuldeep Yadav on field change request

Stand-in skipper MS Dhoni, who was leading the Indian team for the record 200th time in ODIs after 686 days on Tuesday, came up with one of his stinging one-liner from behind the stumps that beat chinaman Kuldeep Yadavಞ all ends up.

Kuldeep pressed for a change on the field but Dhoni was adamant not to give the spinner his choice of field against Afghanistan during the Super Four match of the Asia Cup 2018 in Dubai. Kuldeep persisted for a change but Dhoni not only turned a blind eye to his request but also gave him a cheeky reply, “Bowling karega ya bowler change karein”.

As it turns out, Dhoni’s cheeky remark was recorded on the stump mic and gave Twitterati enough content to giggle about.

This is not the first timꦍe something like this has transpired between Dhoni and Kuldeep.

Earlier, Kuldeep narrated an entire conversation during the chat show ‘What the Duck’, which had taken place in the past.

“Wherever I pitched the ball, it went for six. The ground was so small. After every six, I would look at Mahi (Dhoni). He would say, ‘it wasn’t that far, you should keep it further’,” Kuldeep said.

“And when I was bowling my fourth over; the batsman reverse swept me for four. Mahi bhai came to me and said, ‘remove cover, move him deep and bring point up’,” Yadav recalled.

“And I said, ‘No Mahi bhai, that’s okay’,” the left-armer said.

“After hearing this, Mahi bhai got angry and said, “Kya main pagal hoon yaha pe, main 300 ODI khela hoon’,” Kuldeep added.
