“Everyone inspires me to be my better self. I can’t give you any names, but initially, Kumar Sangakkara and Matthew Hayden did inspire me to take up batting. So I think, both are among my inspirers,” Mandhana mentioned.
The Maharashra-born cricketer wants the Indian men’s team captain Virat Kohli to play cricket forever. “Right now how Kohli is going, he should never retire for India because he is scoring a huge amount of runs and he should keep on playing, score runs and win matches for his team,” the left-handed batswoman added.
Meanwhile, she finds the Australian fast-bowler Mitchell Starc as menacing owing to his lethal pace and venom. She named him as the bowler she doesn’t want to face. “Mitchell Starc. Hopefully, we don’t have to play against the men. He bowls at 150 kmph and lethal yorkers,” she mentioned while hailing the Aussie speedster.
