In an unfortunate turn of events, Kolkata Knight Riders pacer Kamlesh Nagarkoti has been ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). A foot injury has forced the Under-19 World Cup star out of the tournament and Karnataka pacer Prasidh Krishn𒊎a has been called in as his replacemen🥃t.
The 18-year-old Nagarkoti was bought by the KKR franchise during the players’ auction for a hefty amount of Rs 3.20 crores and was set to play an important role in the side’s run in the tournament.
Nagarkoti’s replacement, Krishna is a 22-year-old fast bowler from Karnataka, who has featured in one first-class match, 19 List-A encounters and three T20s and has picked up six, 33 and four wickets in them respectively.
As Nagarokti picked up the injury before the commencement of the tournament, 💧the Karnataka medium pacer was called up by the Kolkata-based outfit as a backup option earlier and he featured for them in a couple of practice matches as well.
As far as the Kolkata based franchise is considered, they are already running low on fast bowling resources. Mitchell Starc was rule🤡d out before the start of the tournament and now Nagarkoti has been ruled out as well.
Therefore, now in absence of two of💖 their most potent pacers in Starc and Nagarkoti, Mitchell Johnson, Tom Curran and Shivam Mavi are expected to step up and t🔯ake their team through.
