Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar is one of the most recognizable sports identities across the world. He is the record holder of the highest number of runs, the highest number of centuries, winner of the most num🤡ber of player of the match awards and much more, but the Master Blaster remains as modest as ever about his achievements.
The similar path is being followed by the Australian women cricket Ellyse Perry. She recently won the international player of the year award by ICC and is also at the top of the women’s ICC ODI batting and all-rounder rankings.
She averaged 70.20 with the bat and 25.90 with the ball during Australia’s successful defence of the Ashes. And also won the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) title with the Sydney Sixers and was voted the women’s player of the year at the Allan Border Medal.
Australia is going to host the next edition of World T20 across genders in 2020. With two years in hand, the preparation by Australia Women’s cricket team has already begun. They clinched the trophy for three consecutive times in 2010, 2012 and 2014. Ahead of the mega-event, Ellyse Perry spoke to sports legends such as Sachin Tendulkar, Pele, Cathy Freeman, John Eales and Jessica Watson, to know success mantras.
The former Indian cricketer shared his thoughts 🏅with Ellyse Perry through a lovely message on T🅰witter.
“It was a pleasure talking to you, @EllysePerry. Just remember why we started playing Cricket… for the absolute love of the game. You’ll not get a bigger opportunity to express this than playing in a World Cup. Keep the kid in you alive. @ICC #WT20 #IWD2018”, Sachin wrote.
