India’s opening batsman Rohit Sharma suffered yet another failure to put an end to his forgetful tour of South Africa. After holding the reputation of being Kagiso Rabada’s bunny during the Tests and ODIs, Rohit turned out to be rookie Junior Dala’s bunny in the T20Is.

Barring the century at Port Elizabeth in the ODI series, Sharma’s batting technique was exposed in the seaming conditions of South Africa. The Mumbai lad had nowhere to hide when playing against Rabada who dismissed him on more than seven occasions throughout the tour.

Just when Rohit could breathe a sigh of relief with Rabada out of the squad in the T20I series, the hosts unleashed rookie Junior Dala in front of the so-called ‘Hitman’.

In the three T20Is, Dala picked up Rohit on all three occasions. The last two dismissals at Cape Town and Centurion have almost been identical. Clearly, Rohit’s technique has been found wanting, looking at his leg before wicket dismissals throughout the tour.

Therefore, Twitterati went full monty on the three-time double centurion in ODIs. Many questioned his place in the side, while the others questioned his batting abilities outside the Indian sub-continent.
