India started their ICC U-19 World Cup campaign with a 100-run victory over Australia at Mount Maunganui. Jack Edwards’s all-round show went in vain as India’s top-three batsmen notched up the fifties to set the team up for a 328 run total before their bowlers wrapped up Australia for just 228.
India posted a mammoth 180-run partn🐻ership for the first wicket before Indian skipper Prithvi Shaw departed six short of his hundred. Manjot Kalra got out on 84 as India crossed the 200-run mark. Shubman Gill then hit a 54-ball 63 to take India past the 250-run mark. Useful contributions from the tailenders further propelled the total to 328.
Two Indian quicks Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Shivam Mavi picked thr🐻ee wickets each to wrap up Australia’s innings in the 43rd over itself. Nagarkoti and Mavi bowled over 145kmhr 🌸on a regular basis as they troubled the Aussie batsmen.
Nagarkoti even touched 147kph which was the quickest by any player in the match but perhaps may also become the quickest in the tournament. Some people were reminded of Shaun Tait while some were in awe 𝓡of how an 18-year-old was able to outsmart the Aussies, who hav🗹e the reputation of acing the pace department.
Here’s how Twitter reacter to Nagarkoti’s bowling:
This was serious pace from our boys. Solid beginning beating the Aussies by 100 runs. May the hunger contin🔯ue and we carry the momentum.

Two Indian U19 boys are bowling 140kph + for fun.. Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti who just bowled at 146.. Remember a time where as fans we got excited to see Right Arm Fast Medium instead of Right Arm Meꦏdium Fast for an Indian pacer. And that was the senior players

Kamlesh Nagarkoti reminds me of Shaun Tait with a better line and length. The only difference is that Tait just had pace but Nagarkoti has most of the qualitie🃏s💃 of a legendary fast bowler!
— Divyanshu (@MSDivyanshu)
Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Shivam Mavi bowling consistently 140+ kmph is a refreshing sight. Nagarkoti bowls well in the death as well. First person to take List A hat-trick for Rajasthan.
These two will be hot p⛦icks 🃏during IPL auction, I guess— Sarang Bhalerao (@bhaleraosarang)
Kamlesh Nagarkoti: New Fastest Indian bowler is in making ? His consistency of throwing fast balls is more than anything else r൲ight now.. What a Champion!
