Australian opener David Warner, on 27th November, paid an emotional tribute to his former teammate Phillip Hughes, who had died on the same day three years ago.
Hughes, who was playing a Sheffield Shield game in Sydney, was hit a bouncer on the neck by Sean Abbott and succumbed to his injuries two days later. He was three day𒊎s short of celebrating his 26th birthday.
To pay homage, the Aussie cricketers wore black arm-band as well ꩲon the fifth and final day of the first Ashes Test ♊at Gabba, which they won by 10 wickets.
Warner looked up to the sky after he reached 63 not out, which was also Hughes’ score when he was tragically hit in the head while batting in a Sheffield Shield game in 2014, during Australia’s second innings in Brisbane.
