Ross Taylor stitched a partnership of 200 runs with Tom Latham to take New Zealand to 6 wi𝐆ckets win over India in the first ODI at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, on Sunday.
While Latham hit an unbeaten ton, Taylor made a crucial 95 to easily chase down the targe🍷t of 281 and gave the visitors a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Impressed with Taylor’s perseverance and maturity, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag took to Twitter to praise 💫the right-ha𓆏nded batsman, albeit in his own witty style.
“Well played Ross Taylor Darji ji. Great effort after handling the pressure of Diwali orders,” wrote Sehwag.

The Kiwi batsman wasn’t prepared to let Sehwag go easily. Taylor stumped Sehwag with an even funnier response in Hindi.
“Thanks virender sehwag bhai agli Baar Apna order time pe Bhej dena so Mai Apko agli Diwali ke pehle deliver kardunga ….happy Diwali (next time please give your order on time so that I can give you the delivery on time),” replied Taylor.

Pleasantly surprised with Taylor’s Hindi and witty response, Sehwag praised his partnership stitching skills.
“Hahaha Masterji, is saal waali patloon hi ek bilaang choti karke dena next diwali pe. Ross the Boss, most sporting (simply reduce the length of this year’s pant and give it to me next Diwali),” was Viru’s prompt response.

Taylor wasn’t going to give up on the conversation without putting up a fight. He asked, “Has your Darji not done a good job this Diwali?”

Sehwag, though, was always going to have the last word. “No one can match up to your high standards of stitching Darji ji, whether it is a pant or a partnership,” he wrote.
