Most of the cricketers who played with MS Dhoni in early days were named in the movie ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’.
But you will be surprised to know that popular actor Angad Bedi too played under 19 🅰age group cricket with the former Indian skipper.
Angad, who features in a new web series ‘Inside Edge’, based on T20 cricket tournament, recently threw light on how he is inspired by Mahi.
“I remember when Dhoni first came to Delhi, the coach of Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium asked him… ‘Aap kya karna chahte ho?’ He said, ‘Sir main Bharat ka kaptaan banna chahta hoon’. He was humble, but he was sure of his abilities and I was drawn to that the most,” Angad was quoted as saying.
Angad Bedi, who is the son of former Indian cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi, added, “Dhoni’s head was very clear. And it showed in his leadership qualities even when he captained India with grace and dignity. I wanted to bring that grace and dignity in Arvind, my character in the show.”
Well, in the web series, which is Amazon Prime’s original show, Angad is playing the role of the captain of a Mumbai team which is going through a lot of turmoil.
To match up with the similar instanc♏es which take place during T20 matches, Angad took to reading material on Dhoni and watched several of his interviews, cricket matches on YouTube.
