Team India’s best batsman in the five match ODI series against West Indies, Ajinkya Rahane, has revealed that MS Dhoni‘s innovative on-field ideas helped the team in the Carribean and the team is lucky to have him on board in the limited over formats.
Rahane also stated that skipper Virat Kohli‘s backing helped him play freely in the series.
The 29-year old scored 336 runs a✱t a🐻n average of 67.2 which earned him the man of the series award.
Kohli has always admitted of consul♑ting Dhoni when in a quandary over a specific decision 𒀰and Rahane noted the same.
“It’s great to have MS Dhoni around. We are all lucky to have him. It becomes easier for Virat with him around. Many times Virat went and asked him opinions and he comes up with great ideas. It’s good to see both of them working together,” Rahane told India Today.
“Virat told me in West Indies to back myself and not to take pressure. He told me you are the best and know how to handle the situation. When the captain asks you to bat with freedom and says I am backing you and the team is with you, what more do you want,” added Rahane.
