Harbhajan Singh reveals his celebrity crush, favourite cricketers and other interesting things

And during a fun interview with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), he has revealed his favourites on and off the field. The off-spinner has a crush on Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre and Hollywood diva, Salma Hayek.

Favourite Song: It’s a Sufi song, ‘Charkhe di kook’ by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. I also love the title track from Hindi movie, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar

Favourite Movie: Dilwale Dulhaniyaan Le Jayenge and Lion King

Favourite Musician/Band: I love Sufi music and I have many favourite Sufi singers. My 🐠most favourite is Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Favourite Holiday destination: New York

Favourite Cuisine: Thai

Favourite Mother’s recipe: My mom makes this sweet dish wit♉h rice. It’s basically sweet rice with saffron in it. I love it.

Sachin Tendulkar and Sir Vivian Richards

Best cricket buddy: I have so 🍸many best friends in cricket. I will hav🌄e to name them all. Ashish Nehra, Zaheer Khan, Yuvraj Singh, Sachin paaji, Cheeku (Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan. There are many others but these are my closest friends.

The go-to person for any advice on cricket: Sachin paaji

Mantra for life:
live simple and live every day to the fullest

If I weren’t a cricketer, I would be:
I don’t know. I can’t imagine my life without cricket.

A childhood cricket memory that is still fresh in my mind: I still remember the day I saw the Indian team for the first time. They were playing a match in Jalandhar against Sri Lanka and I was a ball-boy there, about 10-11 years old. I saw them pass one by one from beside me – Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath and Sachin Tendulkar. I looked at them and went, ‘Wow!’. I was particularly in awe of Sachin paaji. I had heard what a great player he was when I saw him, I just kept staring. That’s when I realised what greatness is.
