After Azhar, which was inspired by the life of former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, which spotlights former Indian captain MS Dhoni‘s life journey, another sports biopic hit the theatres on May 26.
Narrating the story of Sachin Tendulkar‘s larger-than-life cricket career, Sachin: A Billion Dreams has been trending for a few days now.
Recently, Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan attended the grand premiere of Sachin’s biopic along with husband Abhishek Bachchan and father in law Amitabh Bachchan.
At the premiere, Aishwarya Rai greeted Sachin, his wife Anjali Tendulkar and interacted with the media as well.
“We were talking about Sachin. We don’t need to say much, it’s the national chant,” the actress was quoted as saying.
“I am so proud of Sachin. I Think when you just say, “Sachin, Sachin! that pretty much says for all of us. So proud of him! Congratulations to the entire team to have the nation celebrate him,” she added.
“We know him personally, so the motion is personal as well. Obviously, I relate to his family sentiments.”
Aishwarya also said: “I was very moved and very overwhelmed and of course extremely proud as every Indian has been and always will be!”
Directed by James Erskine, Sachin: A Billion Dreams is about Sachin’s phenomenal journey to becoming the “God of Cricket” from a young boy.
